The NFL Season is Upon Us

It used to be that the National Football League only captured the attention of the sports world from opening weekend in September through the Super Bowl in January. But now with the non-stop ESPN coverage of the NFL Draft, the 24-hour-a-day NFL Network and countless football blogs, the NFL is truly a year-round sport. And one of the most important dates on the calendar was the release of the 2008 NFL football schedule this spring. As soon as that schedule was announced, football fans began a frantic search for NFL tickets, especially for New England Patriots tickets, New York Giants tickets, Chicago Bears tickets and Washington Redskins tickets.

Of course some of the most sought after football tickets are Monday Night Football tickets, which this season will feature teams like the Green Bay Packers, San Diego Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts. Then there are other special events, like Dallas Cowboys tickets for their annual Thanksgiving game or Philadelphia Eagles tickets for a Thanksgiving night showdown at Lincoln Financial Field. The great thing about the NFL is that with only 16 games, even a regular Sunday afternoon game can be special.

Buying your NFL football tickets before the start of the season is almost always a smart move, especially considering how much the price of Patriots tickets jumped last year as they marched through the regular season with a perfect record. And it’s not too early to start thinking about Super Bowl tickets so that you’ll be all set for the big game on February 1, 2009 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. So take a few minutes to look over the 2008 NFL schedule and then get going on your search for NFL football tickets. Other Sports resources: Official NFL Schedule, Premiere Global Sports

NBA Playoffs: Western Conference Semis

New Orleans Hornets (+7) @ San Antonio Spurs
Game 6, 9:00 PM on ESPN

CP3 and Co. will finally dismiss the San Antonio Spurs from the playoffs in the Alamo tonight. Big Fundamentals and Frenchie have played great so far this series but the younger Hornets are too fast and too talented for the aging Spurs. Head Coach of the Year, Byron Scott, will let his boys run wild tonight and hopefully run San Antonio's dreams of returning to the Finals into the ground.

Prediction: CP3 gets his teammates in an up-tempo rhythm. He ends up with 27 points, 16 assists and a few boards. Most of his assists will come on oops to Tyson Chandler and kick outs to a wide open Peja for some 3-balls. Oh and David West outplays Timmy D in the battle of the bigs. New Orleans wins outright, screw the line, take the POINTS.

T.O on TV

TO will make his acting debut Wednesday night on Flavor Flav’s MyNetworkTV show “Under One Roof.” To will play Flav’s long-lost brother who is trying to get him to invest in his website.

Flava Flav knows how to use a computer and the internet??

“I see dollar signs,” Owens said in an interview with The Associated Press. “I’m trying to kind of smooth my way into the family, but Flav is not buying it. It’s a lot of funny dialogue. It was a good time.”

“If I’m going to really consider doing acting after football, this a great start to let me get my feet wet,” Owens said. “For an actor trying to become an A-lister, I think I’m on the bottom of the pile. I’m a D-lister.”

Well working with former crackhead turned reality TV C-lister is surely the right path to TV stardom.

“I think I’ve got everyone I know tuned in to watch this show. I even sent an e-mail out,” he said. “I guarantee you, once people see the show, I’ll be getting e-mails and text messages out the wazoo. … Believe me, it’s some funny stuff. It’s going to be great.”

OH Terrell.

Ronaldo goes Both Ways

Futbol sensation Ronaldo hit the headlines when it was detailed that he had had an encounter with three transvestites in a Rio hotel on the eve of April 28th.

The 31 year old international soccer star told police that he picked up the three transvestites, believing that they were female prostitutes, and did not realize they were trannies until they got to the hotel and revealed their packages.

Ronaldo also accused one of the transvestites, Andreia Albertini (these foreign names, is that a guy or a guy or both) of trying to extort him, allegedly asking for $30,000 in exchange from leaking Ronaldos unfortunate account with multiple media outlets.

According to the report:

The tranny has now hit back at these claims. "I have never asked him for money to buy a house,” Albertini said.

“Ronaldo begged me not to ruin his career and asked me if 50,000 reais would shut my mouth."

Oh and Ronaldo claims he ‘DID NOT have sexual relations’ with any of the transvestites.

The Mailman

Anyone ever heard of Demetrius Bell, the Bills rookie defensive tackle? Yeah, I haven't either. Well, he’s former Utah Jazz great Karl Malone’s kid. Neat, right? Ummmm….not so much.

Bell's mother actually only happens to be 13 years older then her son Demetrius. That would mean that 'the Mailman' was a sophomore at Lousiana Tech at the time. Yeah. Do the math?

Malone has had no involvement in raising or providing for his child (class act) and according to a report told Demetrius when he was 18 that, ''It was too late for him to be his father and that Bell would 'earn his money on his own".

His mother Gloria Bell told the Salt Lake Tribune in 1998, “Demetrius is ashamed that his dad doesn’t claim him. But I’ve told him it is not his fault.”

Still a Karl Malone fan?

Forget what 'the Mailman' did on the basketball court, this accord tells us all we need to know about the type of person Malone really is.

Way to Go Guy

In arguably the biggest game of the Montreal Canadiens season their head coach, Guy Carbonneau, decided to go in favor of his back-up rookie goalie Jaroslav Halak over their other netminder, Carey Price. The 20 year old Price only had a .853 save percentage in the last three games against the Flyers, but was outstanding the entire regular season and in the first round against Boston.

Carbonneau who led the Canadiens to a 47-25-10 record (104 pts) and landed them the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference, deferred from the guy they rode all season and went against all of his coaching wisdom in hopes of a minor spark. That spark obviously did not ignite the fire. Halak, who was making his first career postseason start, actually his 5th start of the entire season, allowed 3 goals on 25 shots fired in his direction.

On one goal that came early in 3rd period off of a rebound from the shot of Vaclav Prospal, Scotty '2 Hottie' Hartnell had a wide open net as Halak was completely out of position and had no idea where he was on the ice, let alone the puck.

The move proved to bite Carbonneau and the Canadiens in the ass as the 22 year old Halak did not perform up to expectations in what was by the far the most crucial game of the series and probably the most important game of the Canadien's impeccable season. The #1 seed Montreal Canadiens are now down 3 games to 1 to the # 6 seed Philadelphia Flyers because of Guy's coaching blunder.
